The long summers of our discontent are over.
Somewhere up in Heaven, Momma Agitator and her dad are doing the happy dance.
Me? I can’t stop laughing. But first there were tears of joy last night.
What else canst thou say?

What a great night. And I know how you feel. When my beloved Red Wings finally won the Cup in 1997 (42 year drought), there were many of us in tears.
Since moving to the area, I have become a fan of the Phillies. I always wanted an NL team to root for, and what a better way to do it then move to where one was. I am very happy for the Phillies’ fans. It hasn’t been easy. Only the second pennant, and it took 28 years to win it. Enjoy!
(And I suspect they will make the playoffs again next year.)
I went to bed early last night because I was filling under the weather. As soon as I heard about the World Series this morning, I knew I had to drop by to wish you congratulations.
My grandmother’s family was a Philly Irish family. She was the last of eleven children, orphaned by age ten, and raised by her older siblings. My recollection is that she spent her time between two houses on the same street. My grandparents met working at Breyer’s ice cream (we have a fierce loyalty to this brand to this day). We eat scrapple. We eat cream cheese and jelly sandwiches. (Not sure if these are “Philly” traditions, but my mom swears they are!)
Anyway, we don’t follow sports much in this branch of the family, but I’m sure my grandparents are whooping it up in heaven today!!
“filling”???
Woo!!! Hooo!!!
Awesome!
I thought of you once I heard that the Phillies had won. Congratulations!
Congrats. I was rooting for you.
What CK said. Congratulations you’ve waited for this a good long while….
Thanks for the hugs, folks.
Twenty-three years is a long time. I’m extra happy that my baseball-loving son stayed home last night to watch it with the old man.
