Million Phan march.

Shots of yesterday’s parade in downtown Philadelphia for our World Series champions.  The folks who know how are estimating that the crowd was at least 1.5 milllion strong.

Some of us had to work for a living yesterday, but we were there in spirit.  I had help: at least 30% of my students were there!

Guys ‘n gals: that test is still Monday.

  1. I would be so much more impressed to see a crowd like this coming out for a political rally, or to protest the war in Iraq, or the government’s torture of the innocent. Good on the Phillies and all, but I think the relative attention sports gets is highly over-blown. I’ll change my opinion when a top cancer researcher gets the same salary and fame as a starting pitcher.

And OT, but when is America going to get serious about gun control anyway? Kids getting shot and killed while trick-or-treating is just beyond the pale.
