Support the Employees’ Free Choice Act!

This week’s Right-wing meme of choice is to attack labor unions and working people who want to exercise their right to organize by blaming THEM for the woes of the auto industry, amongst other things.  Forget the fact that that, for example, GM has spent decades building ugly, unreliable, inefficient suburban panzers that nobdy wants.  No, it’s the fault of the average Joe or Jiill on the assemply line that The Big Three are all going belly-up.

Well, that’d be a no.

Support the right to organize.  It’s the American thing to do.

  1. Oh, sure, it’s okay for the CEOs and upper management to have employment contracts to protect their obscene salaries, amenities, stock options and golden parachutes, but hoo boy, it’s a horror if the average employee wants the protection of a contract or a union.

Bad workers, bad, bad workers. They should feel lucky to get paid anything and to keep all their fingers, the selfish jerks.

  2. I threatened a grievance this week – which I will be filing – and my principal now calls me a “militant hard-liner.”

    Yeah, baby.

  3. Though this seems superficial, I’ve given you an award for blogging, because I read you every day and know you are helping us to think, pray, and act for justice.

  4. Well, shucks. Thanks for that.

    :)

  5. This was way too predictable.

  6. This will really help out. I hope it passes.

  7. Labor unions: one essential part of a democratic society.

And don’t ever ever think unions are only for someone else. My husband had a great boss, someone who was also a friend, but when the bottom line was at stake, guess what? He let my husband go and when business picked up he hired a less experienced worker at half the salary. There should have been a union.
